I’ve got a question for you…What is holding you back? More specifically, what is holding you back from achieving your horse related goals? Is it fear? Is it time? Is it confidence? Is it that you are so confused that you’re not sure if you are doing the right or wrong thing with your horse? Is it that you are worried about making mistakes with your horse? Is it social pressure about having to ride a certain way or achieve things with your horse to meet other peoples standards? Is your horse scared or shutdown? Are you partnered with the wrong horse at the moment? Is your horse too green or does it lack training? Are you struggling to stay present and in the moment while you are working with your horse? Does your horse need more regular work and muscle conditioning?
As a mentor and educator I am constantly asking my students questions to get them thinking about what might be the underlying thought patterns or reasons that could be affecting their progression in horsemanship.
Questions force you to look at the situation with a different perspective, they challenge you to consider another alternative. I know my horsemanship and life journey improved significantly when I began to ask better questions. It was hard at first and then slowly it became easier, like most things in life – CONSISTENCY is the key to progress!
I hope I get the chance to help you and your horse in some way in the future.
I would love to hear from you…So, what is holding you back?
